What is love—
A fleeting feeling festering
in the chest cavity?
A euphoric entertainment eating
at the viscera?
A debilitating disease digressing
the heart tissue?

Or just
An emotional response
To hormones
Flushing the cheeks,
Warming the peach—
Stiffening the rod—
Physical reactions
Culminating into
Imbricated flesh?

Heavenly emotions
Uncontrolled in the midst
Of mechanical attraction—
A harmonic, hormonic intermingling
Of flesh to flesh
Instrumented by
Unknown spirits?
Or is it just to keep the species alive?
